middle school supply lists for 2020-21

体育比分网as we approach the new school year, it is important to note that sharing of supplies will not be allowed as part of our preventative health and safety measures. while teachers will keep a small number of additional supplies on hand for students who may forget their items or come to class without them, we ask that families provide the supplies below and keep extra at home. this will also enable students to move seamlessly between on-campus and virtual learning as may be required in the coming months ahead.

体育比分网middle school students will be using their lockers on a very limited basis to discourage hallway congregation and to protect physical distancing among students during transition periods. with this in mind, we are asking that all middle school students purchase a backpack that is comfortable, has room to hold their supplies, and preferably a laptop sleeve. as students move from class to class, all supplies will need to be safely stored inside the backpack to allow for hand washing and/or sanitizing upon leaving one room and re-entering the next. we also suggest having a pencil pouch or small pencil bag to hold pens, pencils, glue sticks, highlighters, etc. additionally, when selecting a binder for organization, please make sure that the binder can fit inside the backpack with room for other items. if selecting a smaller binder, or multiple small binders/folders (one for each class) is easier, we welcome students doing that as well.

in addition to regular school supplies, all students and staff at mpa will be required to wear masks. masks may be made of cloth and washable or disposable, like medical surgical masks. the most important thing is that the mask a student wears is comfortable and fits securely around their face, covering the nose and mouth. students are encouraged to have two masks each day with them at school – one to wear and a replacement in the event of loss, damage, or soiling. it is recommended that if your family elects to wear cloth masks, you have several on hand for washing and wearing over the course of the week.

体育比分网you will notice that there are no specific uniforms/clothing items required for physical education. as shared in our school communications, we will not be using the locker rooms during the day for changing as they present a physical distancing and supervision challenge. students are asked to dress appropriate for weather and comfortably so that they may participate in physical activity during their school day. tennis shoes are highly recommended (at least brought to school for p.e. class). we will be using our outdoor spaces as much as possible.

finally, we will continue to encourage students to drink water and remain hydrated and healthy. our bottle filling water stations will remain operable while the drinking fountain functions will be disabled. we encourage your student to bring a water bottle with them to school that can be safely stored/secured in a side pocket in their backpack (something to think about when picking a backpack!). please consider purchasing a no-spill water bottle with a straw so that your student’s mask needs to be only lifted, not removed, to take a drink of water.

体育比分网thank you – for your support of our efforts at school to keep everyone learning, safe, healthy, and happy. if you have questions or concerns about anything on this list, please let us know.
